SAT or ACT? Try each before you choose.
Neither test is objectively easier for everyone. The better choice depends on the format, section mix, timing, and the evidence you get from official practice.
SAT
Consider the SAT if you prefer its digital format and want to concentrate your preparation on Reading and Writing plus Math.
ACT
Consider the ACT if its English, Math, and Reading core feels like a better fit, and decide explicitly whether Science and Writing apply to you.
A reliable way to decide
- Check each college’s current testing policy and your own registration options.
- Use current official practice material for each test.
- Compare which format lets you show your strongest work under time pressure.
- Choose one primary plan rather than splitting attention indefinitely.
